The Gangsters
Yasu "Ondori" Himura | やす "おんどり" ひむら | Oni | She/They
Founder and current leader of the Sukajan Senshi, Ondori takes the rooster as her symbol (and namesake). All her life Ondori was forced to fight her own battles, whether that was securing food and shelter as a homeless orphan, or physically fighting off muggers in the shady side streets of Tokyo. As a teenager she left Japan and settled in Virtua City, hoping the city known as the "utopia of equality" would be less predjudiced against inhumans like herself. Unfortunately, it wasn't. After reaching her thirtieth birthday she decided to do something about the rampant corruption and injustice she experienced throughout her life, forming the gang known as Sukajan Senshi (named after the embroidered souvenir jacket she won in a street fight). The rest, as they say, is history.
Ebele | Dullahan | She/Her
Ebele is the director of Sukajan Senshi, tasked with archiving records, membership, and keeping the entire group organized and functioning. She is also Ondori's romantic partner and second in command. Nothing goes on under the Sukajan Senshi umbrella without Ebele's knowledge, and she has a knack for detecting lies and untrustworthy people. Hailing from a small town in Nigeria, Ebele came to Virtua City to pursue an education in business administration. It was not long before the discrimination she faced daily led her to Ondori's budding organization, and she wasted no time putting her management skills to work. What had started as a passionate but disorganized street gang was quickly transformed to an influential community outreach program, and without her it is unlikely Sukajan Senshi would have half the impact that is has today.
Shakti | शक्ति | Vampire | They/Them
Shakti is the mediator between the Virtua City and Cyberscape wings of the Sukajan Senshi. Raised within the ruthless slums of Mumbai, they took the first opportunity that arose to escape poverty: at age 12 they hopped on a cargo ship and prayed it would take them somewhere better. Fortunately they found themselves in the heart of Virtua City, a similarly busy city but with far less threat of violence. Shakti fell in love with computers and quickly acclimated to the digital world of Cyberscape, where they learned how to find and harness Glitches for their own use. Now their street running days are over, and Shakti is the go-between for the online and real world sects of the gang.
